Director Shelly’s team, lead locally by Adrian Snelling, does not play. They are such an efficient, creative and dedicated team. From the special touches with water to their no nonsense systems, they are one of the most caring, consistent teams I have seen!

Mrs. Harshbarger exemplifies CPS’s core values by being a caring, collaborative teacher who strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for the students in her class. Despite having to move schools and becoming a new mother, she still has been able to find the time to become a strong member of John P. Parker who has not only supported her students but has also supported many staff members with students who have had students in their general education classrooms who are on the spectrum. Mrs. Harshbarger’s students can be seen in the hallway smiling and interacting with others all because of the support she provides and the safe community she has created around them. I am extremely proud to call Mrs. Harshbarger a colleague and only hope she can be recognized for her accomplishments.

Liz Martin & Adam Goeppner – Assistant Treasurer & Director of Business Technology -Treasurer’s Office – I COLLABORATE, I CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE
Liz and Adam recognized an opportunity for process improvement and they went to work. We needed to standardize a process for tracking Mentor Teacher payments. We developed a committee that we named the “Dream Team” and these two created a Business Plus Form and a workflow process to ensure accurate tracking that will ensure timely Mentor Teacher payments. This is a perfect example of cross collaboration and the Core Values of: I Collaborate – I Continuously Improve. Thanks Dream Team!

Cathy Koesters – Intervention Specialist – John P. Parker – I CARE, I COLLABORATE, I CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE, I COMMIT TO SUCCESS
Cathy Koesters is my own personal role model. After retiring, she returned to teaching because her consent drive for education and her love of fostering a positive learning experience for children never stopped. Cathy constantly seeks out opportunities to learn more about education and her student’s needs, even though her knowledge of education is already incredibly vast and impressive. Cathy always has an incredible way of being nurturing and loving while also holding her students to the high standards she knows they all can achieve. She is an incredible teammate, and helps support not only students but also her fellow coworkers. Her calm presence and positive outlook is such a welcomed addition to the school day. She is tiny in stature but extremely mighty in personality and brilliance. She also has amazing fashion sense to go along with everything else. I personally have the upmost respect for Cathy and can honestly say knowing her and working with her has made me a better person and teacher. I know with 100% certainty that the students she works with are better because they have her in their lives as well.

Mary goes above and beyond to get things taken care of around Central Office. She exemplifies all of the CPS core values! She cares tremendously about making sure that people have an environment that allows them to do their jobs well. She works tirelessly to connect people with the resources and/or people needed to accomplish the task at hand. She does all of this while managing to know nearly everyone by name and greeting everyone with kindness and a smile.

Katie Gregory – 2nd Grade Teacher – Covedale School – I CARE, I COLLABORATE, I CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE, I COMMIT TO SUCCESS
Katie Gregory lives the “I AM CPS” core values in the work she does every day at Covedale. She shows I CARE by going the extra mile to plan field experiences that give our students opportunities they might not otherwise have. Through I COLLABORATE, Katie leads our PBIS team, listens to her colleagues, and helps create meaningful experiences for both students and staff. She is someone others can count on to share ideas, lend a hand, and model strong teaching practices. Katie demonstrates I CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE by taking time to review student data and adjust her teaching to meet students where they are while helping them move forward. She shows I COMMIT TO SUCCESS by following through and keeping students at the center of her work. We appreciate the care, time, and thought Katie puts into making Covedale a better place to learn and work. She is deserving of this recognition.
