“Ms. Bennington cares about each of her students immensely. She goes out of her way to make sure that they succeed not only in school, but out of school as well. She drives them to and from school, helps them secure needed medication, takes them to school events outside of school hours, and even takes them out to eat. She collaborates with colleagues around the district to ensure the best plans for her students; reaching out to previous teachers to see what’s worked and what hasn’t. She continuously improves by attending PDs and piloting programs within her classroom to help meet the needs of her students. When things are no longer working in her room, she adapts them to meet students where they are at. She is committed to success in her own room, but she is also committed to the success of the team. She goes out of her way to help fundraise for the team, to buy needed item for team events, and to know all of the students on our team, not just in her own classroom. She will do whatever it takes to get not only her students, but all students on the team to where they need to be. Ms. Bennington exemplifies what every CPS teacher should be.”
